Claudius was Tiberius's nephew and was the next emperor.
Nero, the next emperor, was hated by the people of Rome, and they rebelled against him.

The first three took the throne and were always overthrown shortly afterwards. Vespasian took power for ten years.
Five good emperors: Nerva - Helped the poor people, education and religion. Trajan - Adopted by Nerva. Liked by the people. The first emperor to be born outside of the Italian Peninsula. Hadrian - Adopted by Trajan, ruled much like his father. Antoninus - ruled over a long period of peace and prosperity. Marcus Aurelious - Began his rule in 161 A.D. He was a wise leader who faced new problems. One of the problems being a plague that swept across the empire killing millions, and another being invaders threatening the empires borders. Aurelius forced back the invaders but died shortly after in 180 A.D.
