Buddha taught four different things
1.Suffering is part of human life
2. wanting things is the root of all suffering
3. The way out of suffering, you'd have to be wise enough to not want things,
4. A guide to proper living is the Eightfold Path.
The Eightfold Path:
Right Intention
Right Speech
Right Action
Right livelihood
Right Effort
Right Mindfulness
Right Concentration
Nirvana - The highest state of the human mind.
Proper concentration.
Controling your feelings in thoughts.
Striving to free ones mind.
Holding a job that does not hurt others.
Respecting life and property.
Saying nothing to hurt others.
Deciding to resist evil.
Knowledge of the truth.
Ahisma - nonviolence, contributed to the belief in peaceful ideas and to the growth of vegetarians
Jainism - new religion similar to Buddhism, founded by Vardhamana Mahavira
Three Jewels - right faith, right knowledge, right conduct ; Hindus, Buddhists, and Jainists all believed in this
Monk - A man who devotes his life to practicing and teaching religious beliefs
