Chuck Close Up Close -Vocabulary

Abstract- Does not try to realistically represent a person or object.

Canvas- A tough woven material that an artist paints on.

Conceptual- Having to do with ideas.

Exhibition- A show of someones artwork.

Hyper realistic- Extremely real-looking

Obstacles- Things that stand in the way of a goal.

Optically- In a way that has to do with vision.

Painstaking- Required great care and effort.

Palette- a board on which an artist mixes colors.

Pixels- Tiny elements that make up an image on a TV or computer screen.

Portrait- A painting of a person
