Weathering: The gradual breakdown of rock into smaller pieces by natural processes such as precipitation, wind, plant growth, and temperature change. ( To the left is a rock weathered by plants)
2 types of weathering. Physical and chemical.
Physical Weathering:Breaks rock apart into very small pieces that retain characteristics of the original rocks.
Abrasion: When stuff gets messed up by sand pebbles or/and rocks. Another type of weathering. Chemical Weathering:Changes the composition of the rock.
Erosion: The wearing away of Earth's flat surface by the breakdown and transportation of rock and soil.
Deposition: The process by which the eroded soil and rock are put down in new places, reshaping landscape.
Sediment: Rock particles.
